Collective Action:  

Building a collaborative, coordinated approach to strengthening natural supports 

The STOPS to Violence Network believes that we are stronger together.  Through a series of Regional and Provincial Gatherings, we are inviting people across the province to play an active role in developing a coordinated, collaborative approach to strengthening natural supports.  

At these Gatherings, we will: 

  • Share information about the STOPS to Violence Network and opportunities to be a part of province wide change 

  • Explore the power and potential of natural supports to play an active role in violence prevention  

  • Identify opportunities for regional and provincial collaboration to strengthen natural supports  

  • Develop recommendations and a plan for action  

Who should attend? 

Anyone who cares deeply about changing the story of violence in our province and wants to contribute to building strong, safe communities. You might come from: 

  • Sport, culture, recreation and arts 

  • Service clubs  

  • Faith and spiritual groups 

  • Human services sector 

  • Tribal Council and First Nations services 

  • Metis Nation services  

  • Municipal, provincial and federal government  

  • Business, industry and agriculture  

  • Educational institutions 

  • First responders and Emergency services  

  • Animal welfare 

  • Community associations and groups 

  • Places and spaces working to build healthy community 

 

Attend a Regional Gathering if: 

  • You are with an agency that offers services in a specific community or region.  

  • Your interest and work is within a specific community or region. 

  • You are with an agency, Ministry or department and your own work is focused on a particular area or region.

  • Your agency is provincial or national in scope. 

  • You are with an area of government that works in public policy and programming for the whole province.
